The Hinduphobic content that is being circulated and continuously produced has harmed the Hindus more than the colonial slavery in terms of creating detachhment from the culture. It is our responsibility as viewers to reject the people and their productions who cannot ascribe basic respect to our faith, our gods and our being.

Alia Ranbeer recently tried visiting the holy Mahakal temple at Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh. They were stopped at the temple gates by the Bajrang Dal. The activists of the saffron organization were angry that a beef eater was being allowed in Hinduism, one of the most sacred sites. Ranbeer in one of his tweets mentioned that “he was a beef lover”. Angered the activists held a peaceful protest, they were dispersed by the police using laathi charge. The newly wed couple who are the lead cast of the upcoming high budget Bramhastra are visiting temples all over India to promote the movie. This is a sign of a changing India where people need to respect the faith of a billion people when they used to ridicule it. The movie was previously said to be the story of the overly romanticised Rumi. Suddenly it became a story of Shiva sighting the boycott movement that is gathering pace. The elite of India considers it a right to ridicule and label the Hindu practises as regressive. Alia would oppose Kanyadaan but not the handing of the bride in the Christian marriages, polygamy and Halala in Islam. It simply doesn’t pay any dividends. Ranbeer can easily boast of his love for beef even when hundreds of millions revere the cow as mother. Alia- Ranbeer or anyone from Bollywood cannot cry foul now that the people see through their hypocrisy and double standards. You wish to bring reforms ? Why exclude anyone from it? Mahakal is a sacred site where Nandi sits with Lord Shiva. How can you eat beef and revere him at the same time? It is too much to even imagine. The Hinduphobic content that is being circulated and continuously produced has harmed the Hindus more than the colonial slavery in terms of creating detachhment from the culture. It is our responsibility as viewers to reject the people and their productions who cannot ascribe basic respect to our faith, our gods and our being.
